The vast environment of Far, Far Range hosts a variety of different fruits that slimes can eat. One such fruit that can be tricky to acquire is the Prickly Pear. The fruit was added into Slime Rancher in the 0.6.0 update.

The Prickly Pear can be found in the Glass Desert, known as the end-game zone in Slime Rancher. In order to reach the Glass Desert, you will need a certain amount of Plorts to enter the Ancient Ruins, which can be found between the Moss Blanket and the Indigo Quarry. Five Quantum Plorts are required to access the warp to the Glass Desert located at the end of the ruins. Check here for the full directions.

Upon reaching the Glass Desert, the Prickly Pear can be found on various trees. It is oval and purple with small, green spikes sticking out from the fruit. The Prickly Pear is favored by Dervish slimes, which are also only found in the Glass Desert. These purple-colored slimes are usually riding atop of whirlwinds, and can produce cyclones that suck up anything its path. The Plorts from these slimes can give turbines and generators an extra boost of energy.
