How to Get the Secret Key in Pokemon Let’s Go
When you finally arrive at Cinnabar Island, you’ll find that you need a certain key to unlock the gym. This is pretty much required if you want to obtain the seventh badge and keep progressing through the story. If you don’t know where to find it, here’s how to get the secret key in Pokemon Let’s Go.
How to Get to Cinnabar Island
First things first, you’ll need to get to Cinnabar Island before you find the secret key. Head on over to Fuchsia City and look for a man with a surfboard and a Lapras. He’ll teach you how to Sea Skim, which is what you’ll need to get to the island.
Once that’s down, fly on over to Pallet Town and use your new skill to head down south. Simply follow the path until you finally come across Cinnabar Island in Pokemon Let’s Go.
How to Find the Secret Key
So once you’re finally on the island, you’ll probably notice that you can’t get inside the gym. Instead of heading there, go on over to the Pokemon Mansion first, which should be right beside it. Here’s what you want to do once you’re inside the eerie mansion:
- Head north and look for the first staircase leading up.
- Fight the Coach trainer on that floor and look for another staircase going up.
- Head east and look for a glowing statue that has a secret switch.
- After pressing it, head south to find the room you just unlocked.
- Descend using the ladder and continue heading south until you come across another staircase on the right.
- You’ll now be in the basement, where you’ll want to find the middle room and look for a switch.
- Find the new room you just opened near the stairs.
- Towards the north, look for a room with beds and press the switch from the glowing statue.
- Head over to the lab room where Mewtwo was staying in.
- Head to the adjacent room on the south to find the Secret Key.
Once you finally have your hands on the Secret Key, you can head on over to the gym and challenge Blaine in Pokemon Let’s Go. He has a slew of strong Fire-types, so make sure to bring along some Water-types or Rock-types to beat him.
