How to Get Zapdos in Pokemon Let’s Go

Some of the Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go are significantly harder to add to your Pokedex than others. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Zapdos in Pokemon Let’s Go so that you can get closer to catching them all.

There is only one of each of the legendary birds available to catch in Pokemon Let’s Go, so you’ll have to be careful when doing so. Even getting to Zapdos, the Electric-type legendary bird, is quite tough. Below are the steps of how to get to Zapdos’ location and how to catch it.

Finding Zapdos & The Power Plant

First of all, you will need to have Pokemon Let’s Go’s equivalent of Surf or Fly. Fly is known as Air Dash and Surf is known as Sea Skim. Then, you will need to use either Special Technique to get to the Power Plant island from Route 10.

Once you’re there in Pokemon Let’s Go, walk through the front door, you’ll begin seeing Wild Pokemon. You’ll come across the likes of Koffing, Weezing, Electabuzz, and Magnemite. You will also see a load of Poke Balls lying around the Power Plant, but many of these will be Voltorb’s disguising themselves.

If you keep walking forward, you’ll see a Coach Trainer, who will use an Omanyte, Kabutops, and Aerodactyl, and will give you five Rare Candies. You’ll then head round to the right, when you’ll likely see a wild Electrode.

If you keep to the left and then turn right and head down the corridor, you’ll find the TM for Thunder just behind some blue and brown bags, near some barrels. Then, go all the way to the right of the long corridor and then up at the turn, which will be the side of the building. Keep following this round, going left, then up again, then left again, then down into a room with computers once the corridor ends.

Then, go left out of this room, into a room with loads of colored barrels, some electrified machinery, and Zapdos, at the far end of the room, of course. Simply walk over to it and press A, which will see a cutscene play.

Catching Zapdos

The Zapdos in Pokemon Let’s Go will be level 50 and will prove very tough. The best tactic is to use Rock and Ice Type Pokemon. The likes of Lapras, Dewgong and others with Ice moves will be useful to have here, as will the likes of Golem and Machamp.

Once its health is low, you will be given the chance to catch it. Again, it will be very difficult. Ultra Balls, Master Balls if you aren’t saving them for Mewtwo, and Razz Berries will be very useful here. Then, do as much as you can to get Great or Excellent throws. That’s a much as you can do to maximize your chances of catching Zapdos in Pokemon Let’s Go.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get Zapdos in Pokemon GO so that you can get closer to catching them all. For more tips and tricks on the game, check out our Pokemon Let’s Go wiki guide.
