While Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are predominantly remakes of the original Red, Blue, and Yellow, there are a few extras in there that you wouldn’t find in the original game. One such extra is the brand new Pokemon Meltan and its evolution, Melmetal. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Meltan in Pokemon Let’s Go.

Despite the Let’s Go games not being part of their own generation, they decided to include these two never-before-seen Pokemon. They’re not just for show; Meltan can be acquired and used in Let’s Go just like any of the original 151.

However, getting Meltan in Let’s Go isn’t a simple process. It can’t actually be caught in Let’s Go at all, but instead needs to be transferred over from its sister game, Pokemon GO.

So, you’re going to need to have both a copy of Let’s Go and Pokemon GO. GO can be be downloaded on your phone from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store for free, so that’s not too hard to get. And since you’re here, you likely already have a copy of Let’s Go Pikachu or Let’s Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch.

In order to obtain a Meltan in Pokemon GO, you’re going to need to transfer one of your Pokemon from GO into Let’s Go.

Firstly for this, you’ll need to enable connectivity between the two. Have both games to hand. On Let’s Go, press X and then Y to go into the settings menu. From here, select the option to connect to your GO account.

On GO, tap the Poke Ball symbol, then the Settings option in the top right corner. Scroll down to connectivity options and tap the Nintendo Switch option. As long as Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, you should quickly get the option to confirm registration on your Switch. Select that, and you should be good to go.

Transferring Pokemon into Let’s Go can be done from the GO Park located in Fuchsia City.

After transferring any of your Pokemon into Let’s Go, you’ll be rewarded on GO with a Mystery Box item. Using this item will unleash Meltan into the world around you for 30 minutes. Find and capture that sucker in GO, and you’ll have your very own Meltan. If you fail, you can get another Mystery Box the same way you got the first.

Now all that’s left to do is transfer it into Let’s Go, and voila!

And that’s all there to know about getting a Meltan in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. For more on the game, check out our wiki here.
