Getting to the Ash Twin Project in Outer Wilds

As you might have guessed, to get to the Ash Twin Project, you’re going to want to head to Ash Twin. However, you’re not looking for some secret tunnel or cave to work your way to the center of the planet.

Instead, you’re going to have to wait a while for the sand column to start shifting the many grains of sand off the surface of the planet to Ember Twin.

Once this has begun, give it a while and let more and more of it drain away. You’re basically playing a bit of a waiting game until the towers begin to appear on the surface of the planet.

In particular, you’re looking for two towers that are linked together by a small bridge overhead. The towers and bridge symbolize the Hourglass Twin planets themselves, clever eh?

When the two towers appear, the one we’re interested in using is the broken one. In our screenshot above, it’s the one on the right. Now you’ve got to play a bit of a waiting game. Specifically, you want to wait until Ember Twin is directly above these towers.

However, that also means the sand column is going to be above you, and if you’re not careful, it’ll suck you up and take you to the sister planet.

As such, what you’ll want to do is wait under the bridge connecting the two towers together until the sand column the planet is directly above you and you have no other option but to head inside.

At this point, hop into the broken tower and use LT on your Xbox One controller to use your jetpack to push yourself down into the ground. This will stop you from getting carried all the way to Ember Twin by the sand column.

If you get the timing just right, the warp tower will activate and take you to the Ash Twin Project. Here, plenty of answers to your questions can be found.
