The Demon’s Souls remake for PlayStation 5 is easily one of the console’s best launch titles, bringing a former cult-classic into the next generation with style. If you’re one of the many who aren’t lucky enough to own a next-gen console though, you’re probably wondering: Is Demon’s Souls coming to PlayStation 4 anytime soon? And if so, when?
Well, for better or worse, we’ve got the answers you’re looking for.
Is Demon’s Souls Coming to PlayStation 4? Answered
As it stands, there are no plans to bring Demon’s Souls to the PlayStation 4.
Since it was announced, Sony’s focus on the game has purely been centered on framing it as a next-gen exclusive for the PS5. They’ve made no mention of it coming to their current-gen hardware, and when a rumor began circulating that it might go multiplatform, it was quickly squashed with an official statement saying this was untrue.
Will the Game Ever Come to PS4?
As for whether Demon’s Souls might come to PS4 somewhere down the line, the chances are pretty slim.
Given how much the game has been hyped as a next-gen title, it isn’t likely that Sony would reverse course and make an inferior port.
Granted, there is a precedent due to the existence of Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4. While it may not be as graphically impressive, it does function smoothly on the PlayStation 4 without any major performance issues.
Even then though, the port’s existence was revealed right alongside the next-gen version; which, as mentioned above, didn’t happen with Demon’s Souls.
With this in mind, it’s safe to say you shouldn’t hold your breath for such a port to release anytime soon.
