Dying Light 2: How to Toggle Flashlight On & Off (PC, Xbox, PlayStation)

While exploring the world of Dying Light 2 in the daylight is pretty dangerous, it’s nothing compared to what awaits you if you venture out of the UV light in the nighttime. The infected will hunt you down mercilessly, scaling walls, jumping across gaps and sprinting after you tirelessly until they catch up with you. As such, it’s sometimes best to try and avoid combat altogether and sneak your way past. To do that, though, you’re going to need to see where you’re going, and so you’re probably wondering how to toggle the flashlight in Dying Light 2.

The flashlight, as is probably pretty obvious, can be used to illuminate your surroundings in dark buildings or outdoors at night. It doesn’t appear to alert enemies if you shine it on them accidentally, too, so you just need to focus on making it to the next quest marker.

Toggling Flashlight in Dying Light 2

To turn your flashlight on or off, simply press down on the d-pad on Xbox and PlayStation, or T on PC.

When you’re done using your flashlight, or you need to turn it on again, simply press down on the d-pad or T again.

The good news is that you don’t have to worry about the batteries running out in your flashlight, or needing to recharge it in general. From our time in the game, the flashlight seems to be a magical variant that can keep illuminating your surroundings for as long as you need without letting up.

Outside of that, there’s nothing else you need to know. You’re all set to use your flashlight to your heart’s content in Dying Light 2.
