Blocking in Dying Light 2

Blocking in Dying Light 2 is simple enough. All you need to do is press L1/LB to block any damage incoming from a zombie/renegade attacking you. There’s a bit more to learn, though, if you’re going to truly master the mechanic.

That’s because by pressing the button at the right moment you’ll perform a ‘perfect block,’ which staggers your enemy and opens them up for a counter-attack.

Perfect blocks also allow you to chain together with other attack combinations, which makes it an even more important part of combat.

It’s worth noting that you can upgrade the combo chains that initiate from a perfect block by pouring skill points into the combat tree.

For example, you are able to press L1/LB to immediately vault over a staggered enemy, then R2/RT to perform a kick that damages another standing nearby.

That’s everything you should need to know about how to block in Dying Light 2. For more tips and tricks on the game, do be sure to check out Twinfinite’s detailed wiki page. You should also see some related content below that may prove useful.
