The Call of Duty franchise is back again this year with the release of Modern Warfare, which sees Sledgehammer back at the development helm. Just like in past games in the series, there are multiple medals and achievements to accrue in the game, including Longshot medals. Here’s how to get Longshot kills in CoD Modern Warfare.
Getting Longshot Kills in CoD Modern Warfare
As the name implies, Longshot kills will reward you with Longshot medals, which can be collected to give you an experience boost. They’re also required for unlocking certain cosmetics in the game, including camo skins for weapons. If you’re looking to get every skin and cosmetic in the game, you’re going to need to farm Longshot kills at some point.
Unfortunately, the game never really explains exactly how to get them. To get a Longshot kill, you need to kill an enemy from about 30 meters away from you in-game. This is easily done by using a scoped rifle, with barrels and attachments that improve your accuracy and damage done over range.
Naturally, getting this medal will be a lot harder to do with assault rifles and shotguns, so you’ll want to practice with sniper rifles instead. In addition to that, try to play on maps that give you long sight lines with fewer corners. You’ll also want to take advantage of high ground and vantage points so you can aim at enemies from afar.
