While just about everything you loot in Borderlands 3 is geared around making yourself more powerful, and better at killing psycho bandits, there are some cosmetic aspects to Borderlands 3 as well. In this guide we’re going to talk about how to get more skins & heads in Borderlands 3.
How to Get Skins & Heads in Borderlands 3
As you may or may not know already, Borderlands 3 allows you to swap out your head and skin AKA clothes for other ones that go beyond just the default. If you pre-ordered one of the collector’s editions, you likely have some from that downloaded already.
However, those aren’t the only ones you can get obviously. It would be pretty weird for Gearbox to make a whole system for changing your appearance and then only have a few skins.
You can get more skins & heads in Borderlands 3 through a variety of different ways.
- Small chance of finding them in loot boxes
- Roll Moxxi’s Slots on Sanctuary
- Buy with Eridium Shards from Crazy Earl on Sanctuary
- Purchase new ones from PS Store and Microsoft Store when available
First, you can just find them in loot boxes around the galaxy. There’s a small chance whenever you open up a loot box or weapon cache that out will pop a new skin or head that you can equip from the Quick Change stations.
Second, there are a few opportunities on Sanctuary to get new skins and heads. Mad Moxxi’s vending machines all have a chance of rewarding you a new skin or a head but keep it mind rolling the slots can start to add up and get costly. So we don’t suggest trying unless you got lots of cash to burn and already have more essentially stuff like SDUs upgraded.
Crazy Earl also sells skins and heads at his Eridium Shard based shop. Make sure to go to him directly though, not his vending machine to see all of his wares. Most of them cost over 100 Eridium Shards so make sure to save up.
Finally, cosmetic items will be available to purchase for real-life cash via the PS Store and Microsoft Store. If you want to go that route to buy something cool, go for it. Just keep in mind there are plenty in-game that you don’t need to buy with real cash.
