Astral Chain Download & Install Size

Cutting right to the chase, Astral Chain’s digital download and install size on the Nintendo Switch is 9.8 GB.

For comparison’s sake, this actually weighs in significantly larger than the digital download install sizes for the likes of Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes (7.2 GB), Fortnite (6.3 GB), and Octopath Traveler (3 GB).

It’s also worth noting that if you pick up a physical copy of Astral Chain, the install size on your Switch will be significantly lower, as most of the data is stored on the game card rather than your system.

We’ll update this post as soon as we know exactly what the install size is for a physical copy of the game.

Will Astral Chain’s Install Size Get Bigger?

As is always the case with download and install sizes for games nowadays, Astral Chain’s could very well grow post-launch. Depending on whether or not PlatinumGames have any post-launch content planned, adding this would up the total file size of Astral Chain.

How to Free Up Space on Your Nintendo Switch

If you’ve run out of space on your Switch, there are a few things to free up some storage space for Astral Chain. First, go to Settings > Data Management > Software. You’ll now be able to select any old games you’re no longer playing and archive or delete them.

Additionally, if you’re a Nintendo Switch power user, it’s always worth looking into a MicroSD Card to externally expand the storage of your console. These can be picked up pretty cheap over on Amazon, and can offer a ton more room.

That’s everything you need to know about Astral Chain’s download and install size. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game, be sure to check out our Astral Chain guide wiki, or more of our guides down below. We’ve also listed some other helpful guides for you down below.
