Having no name in Among Us not only makes it so that crewmates are harder to find and kill, but it also makes impostors challenging to spot as well. So how do you go about getting no name?

Well, the first thing you’ll need to do is fire up the game, head to the main menu, and then select the name. Once you do, you’ll likely notice something a bit different when you try to put nothing in.

How to Have No Name in Among Us

As of Nov. 2020, InnerSloth has implemented a patch that no longer allows entering a blank name. When you try, an error message pops up stating “Server refused username.”

The new update means you’ll at least have to have something in the field in order to continue. You can still be a little tricky, though.

Instead of just leaving your name blank now, just use a period when entering your name on the keyboard before the match. Doing so not only makes it so that there are fewer letters on the screen, but the tiny dot also blends into the background of areas like Polus.
