We’ve already heard a fair amount of information about Pokkén Tournament, like how it features an adorable luchador Pikachu and an edgy Mewtwo variation. Now we know that the Pokémon fighting game will be available on Wii U next spring.
Pokkén Tournament now has a launch window of spring 2016 in North America. The latest trailer also showed off the game’s amiibo card functionality. The first production run of the game will include a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, which can be used to unlock the character immediately. Without the card, Shadow Mewtwo must be unlocked by fulfilling certain requirements in the game.
What do you think of the amiibo card allowing basically a free unlock? Let us know your thoughts, and if you plan to pick up Pokkén Tournament when it launches next year in the comments below!
