Medievil 4K PS4 Remaster Revealed; More Details “Soon”

The resurrection of Sir Daniel Fortesque.

The President of Sony Interactive Entertainment America Shawn Layden has a history of teasing upcoming game announcements with his usually not-so-subtle t-shirts. On two separate occasions, he has worn both a Crash Bandicoot and a Wipeout t-shirt, which were allusions to the later revealed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Wipeout Omega Collection. At this year’s PSX opening celebration, Layden’s t-shirt showed a hidden gravestone that contained the start of the words “Sir Dan.” Anyone who’s played the original PlayStation’s Medievil games knows that Sir Daniel is the name of the game’s skeletal protagonist.

However, this year it wasn’t much of a tease at all, as the hosts actually pointed it out. Layden mentions that Medievil is an “important title to him” before stating that Sir Daniel needs “one more resurrection.” A video was then shown revealing the new remaster of the first game, and is currently known simply as Medievil.

The reveal trailer didn’t show much at all, but lets us know that it will run at 4K on PS4 Pro, and that we will receive “more details soon.” After the PSP’s Medievil Resurrection, this new PS4 title marks the second time that this PS1 action game has been remade.

Those visiting the PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, Los Angeles will be able to purchase the Sir Daniel resurrection t-shirt from the PS Store, with all proceeds going towards The AbleGamers Foundation.
