The game was announced (and confirmed for the west) back in March, and we finally get to learn more.

It’ll release in Japan on October 21 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch with a PC version coming at a later time. Considering Koei Tecmo’s patterns, this means that the Steam version will be released at the same time as the (yet undisclosed) western launch.

The standard 3edition will cost 8,580 yen and a Premium Box will also be released for 11,935 yen and a Special Collection Box for 22,100 yen. Both special editions include an Atelier Ryza 2 costume.

A Digital Deluxe edition will be released as well, but details have not been disclosed.

The story is about a strange school where girls live a seemingly ordinary life. The rather peculiar element is that they have lost their memories besides their names, and they don’t even know where they come from and whether they’re originally from this strange world.

The school is surrounded by the sea, but one day a passage to a new landscape appears. At the end of that road, the girls find a place that feels familiar. When attacked by monsters, they gain mysterious powers.

We also meet five characters, protagonist Ao Yoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo, Yuki Kinjou, Rena Miyauchi, and the returning protagonist of Blue Reflection, Hinako Shirai. All are drawn by Blue Reflection character designer Mel Kishida.

Speaking of gameplay, the girls will deepen their bonds while living together. This will make them stronger in battle. You can also build facilities at school, and then visit them with your friends.

You can check out the trailer of Blue Reflection: Second Light below together with the first screenshots and artwork. This includes the art created for the retailer-specific bonuses in Japan (the images with the “Sample” lettering printed on them):
