Originally released on the Wii in 2011, Skyward Sword is the Zelda game that takes place first in the series chronologically. Link lives on a floating island in the sky called Skyloft, but he must venture onto the abandoned surface of the land to find his friend Zelda who was kidnapped.

In the trailer, we see beautifully remastered HD graphics, and they’ve outlined some changes that we can expect in this new version of the game.

They specifically go over the changes to how the motion controls will be adapted to Joy-Con controls. The right Joy-Con controls Link’s sword, while the left does things like raise Link’s shield to block enemy attacks. The Joy-Con can be used together to use items such as the bow.

For those who didn’t like the motion controls in Skyward Sword (or for those who have a Switch Lite), Nintendo also found a way to make it possible to use traditional controls in the game.

This will be done by using the right control stick to move Link’s sword up and down to mimic the movement.

Finally, they showed off a beautiful pair of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Edition Joy-Con that will be for sale on the same date as the game. It features a navy blue color scheme with Triforce designs.

Skyward Sword HD is set to release on July 16. It is available to pre-order on the eShop right now.
