Cloud Imperium Games released two new videos of its growing space sim Star Citizen.

Recommended Videos

The first video showcases the new mining UI coming with alpha 3.12, alongside work being made on cockpit lighting, fire, derelicts, the much-anticipated ship docking to space stations, refineries, and more.

The second video is interesting for those interested in the art of Star Citizen, with lead concept artist Jeremiah Lee exploring the concept of a Space Cowboy.

You can check both out below.

In other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total is currently at $316,024,492 at the moment of this writing, having passed $316 million as of today.

The number of registered accounts is also well over 2.8 million (currently at 2,844,962).

As usual, you should keep in mind that it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons, including free fly events.

If you want to learn more, we recently got a sizable update on the progress of the single-player campaign Squadron 42.

For the sake of full disclosure, the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago, so you should keep that in mind while reading.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
