Control developer Remedy Entertainment announced an update will be coming to the game later this week that adds new features and quality of life improvements.
A gameplay feature coming with the patch is a new ability called Shield Rush. It allows players to pull up the ground in front of them to use as a shield, then dash into oncoming enemies.
The update brings a few UI changes with improved map readability and a revised ability tree. Players will also be able to reset their abilities and reallocate ability points. Check out the new map and ability tree in the announcement video below.
The final feature in the free update will be Nvidia DLSS 2.0 support for those who own RTX graphics cards. The update will be available on March 26 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store on PC.
The update will launch alongside Control’s first expansion, The Foundation. It will feature a new story, side missions, and abilities taking place in the depths of the Oldest House.
While the patch will be available on all platforms on March 26, PC and PlayStation 4 players will have access to The Foundation on the same date. Control players on Xbox One will have to wait for the new content until June 25.
