XSEED Games Names Ken Berry New President as Shinichi Suzuki Steps Down

Today XSEED Games reached out with a press release to announce some executive role changes at the top of the mostly Japan-focused publisher.

Executive vice president and founding member Ken Berry is taking on the joint roles of president, chief executive officer, and chief financial officer, effectively taking the helm of the company.

Shinichi Suzuki, who had those roles until now, will step down aften seven years and become executive advisor.

Former vice president of production Kenji Hosoi will take on Berry’s former role as executive vice president.

“Ken Berry is a founding member of XSEED Games with 15 years of experience overseeing all aspects of publishing at the company. He has been with the company since before it was incorporated and has filled a variety of roles in addition to his business responsibilities. Before joining XSEED Games, he worked at Square Enix through multiple incarnations. Throughout Berry’s tenure, XSEED Games has built its portfolio and fanbase through critically acclaimed projects and the company’s commitment to high quality localization.

A seasoned veteran, Kenji Hosoi has a long history with XSEED Games and has held various roles while successfully launching hit titles for the company. Hosoi takes over Berry’s EVP role, where he will manage business development and partner relations. The new roles for Berry and Hosoi at the company, which has now grown to 22 employees, are effective immediately.”
