Catherine: Full Body – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

ps4, releases, september, 2019

Catherine was a cult-classic puzzle title that originally released on the PS3, developed by the talented team behind the Persona series.

You play a Vincent, a young man wracked with anxiety over moving forward with his relationship with his long-time girlfriend, Katherine.

One night when Vincent cheats with a young girl he meets, named Catherine, his life gets a lot more complicated and he starts getting drawn into a nightmarish dream world at night.

Catherine: Full Body is a full-blown remake of the original, adding on a ton of new content. There’s an entirely new character and third romance option, named Rin, who can drastically change the way the story plays out.

New story segments, new endings, new music, and new difficulty options, are just a few of the changes coming with Full Body. It’s practically a new game at this point, and not just a simple update.

If you missed Catherine the first time around, you should make sure that doesn’t happen this time on PS4.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

ps4, releases, september, 2019

Over the past few years, Final Fantasy VIII sat in silence while practically every other Final Fantasy game got a remaster or update in some way. Well, it’s finally time for VIII to shine with a nicely updated and remastered version of the game.

The biggest change to the game is completely remastered character models. Gone are the muddy mannequins of the past, replaced with high-quality models that have defined features.

Past the visual upgrade, a handful of helpful options will be included like a 3x fast-forward option, combat assist to max out HP and ATB, and the ability to completely turn off random encounters.

Final Fantasy VIII may not get the recognition that its predecessor does, but by all regards its still an all-time classic JRPG. This update looks like its only making that classic even better.

Greedfall – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

ps4, releases, september, 2019

Greedfall is a fascinating looking RPG that’s gained a lot of attention as of late, especially from fans of BioWare RPGs.

The game takes place in a fantasy world where an island paradise has been discovered by multiple distinct nations. Colonial forces from each of the nations converge on the island to stake their claim, and come to odds with the magical inhabitants of the island.

Greedfall is an action-RPG that’s heavy on story and decision making, letting you alter the course of events depending on what you choose to do. The relationship between each faction on the island plays a vital part in everything too.

With multiple companions, fast-paced third-person combat, and a unique aesthetic, Greedfall could be a PS4 RPG worth checking out.

Borderlands 3 – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

releases, september, 2019

After years of waiting, fans will finally get to return to the world of Borderlands, this time with more mayhem and destruction waiting than ever before.

Borderlands 3 introduces four brand new Vault Hunter to play as; a Siren named Amara who can summon ethereal fists, a gunner named Moze who can summon a mech to ride on, an operative named Zane who fights with diverse gadgets, and a beastmaster named FL4K who can summon animal companions into battle.

While Borderlands 3 isn’t drastically changing anything from past entries, it’s basically doubling down on the core mechanics to make everything even better.

There are multiple planets to explore this time, widening the diversity of locations, and you’ll be able to get your hands on some truly crazy guns, like one that shoots cheeseburgers, or a gun with legs that runs around the battlefield.

Borderlands 3 is one of the most anticipated PS4 games of the year, and hopefully, it delivers.

AI: The Somnium Files – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

releases, september, 2019

If you’ve played the Zero Escape series (999, Virtue’s Last Reward, and Zero Time Dilemma) then you know why you should be excited for AI: The Somnium Files.

The game is directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi, the same director behind the Zero Escape franchise, and his unique eccentric ideas are already clearly on display.

AI takes place in a futuristic Tokyo where you play as detective Kaname Date, who works for the Advanced Brain Investigation Section of the police.

During investigations, you use a machine called the Psync Device to enter the memories of victims and witnesses through dreamscapes called Somniums.

The story looks just as insane as the Zero Escape games, and the colorful art style certainly helps strengthen the weirdness factor. While we’ll have to wait for the full game to see, AI: The Somnium Files might be a cult classic in the making.

Code Vein – New PS4 Games (September 2019)

releases, september, 2019

After multiple delays, the anime-inspired Souls-like, Code Vein, is finally releasing in September on PS4. Developed by the team behind the God Eater series, Code Vein definitely takes inspiration from Souls, but does a lot differently.

Code Vein is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the bulk of humanity has turned into Ghouls, fiendish beings that wander the world searching for blood.

The only thing fighting to save the world is an organization of Revenants called Vein, vampiric beings that can use Gifts in exchange for blood.

Code Vein’s biggest difference comes with its partner system, letting you bring along an AI companion at all times to help in battle.

There’s also a huge amount of variation in terms of character creation and customization, both in terms of looks and gameplay. Different weapons, Blood Codes, veils, and more let you build your own unique playstyle.

Code Vein still had some lingering issues when we played it at E3, but hopefully, most of those have been ironed out for the release.

And that’s it for all of the New PS4 games releasing in September 2019. To check out last months releases, you can click right here.
