THQ Nordic will be hosting a livestream from Gamescom next week showcasing 13 games, as well as various interviews and other activities, the publisher announced today.
A press release sent to Twinfinite reads:
“Vienna/Austria, August 15th 2019: gamescom is all booked out, eh? Or Cologne is too far away for you to make it to the world’s biggest gaming event?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered: THQ Nordic will have a livestream from the show floor in Hall 8, showing off 13 great games and more, such as interviews with cosplayers, game developer talks, famous internet personalities and even a Karaoke show…”
There’s no word on exactly which games they’re showing off specifically, but we do know that THQ Nordic’s show-floor lineup is comprised of the following:
- Biomutant
- Desperados III
- Darksiders Genesis
- Destroy All Humans!
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated
- Monkey King
All with the exception of Darksiders Genesis is a new title, though Genesis does have its new co-op mode to look out for.
THQ Nordic’s livestream is sponsored by Asus, who are working with CSL and AMD to provide top-spec PC hardware for the publisher’s show-floor both.
“All PCs at the THQ Nordic booth will run on the new Ryzen 5 3600 CPUs by AMD. We want our visitors to experience our games in the best possible quality and with perfect performance – that’s why we are working with ASUS, CSL, and AMD.”
Today’s news follows yet more recent acquisition by THQ Nordic, who announced earlier this week that Gunfire Games, Milestone, and Goodbye Kansas would all be joining the publisher.
THQ Nordic has earned itself a reputation for reviving long-lost IPs by acquiring rights and/or absorbing studios into the company. And we’re expecting news on previously revealed projects at Gamescom, such as the new Timesplitters game, Kingdoms of Amalur, Alone in the Dark, Saints Row, and Outcast.
The publisher mentioned plans Timesplitter and Saints row in its most recent financial report, possibly alluding to a reveal at this year’s Gamescom.
