There’s plenty to do in the open world wasteland of Rage 2, from wiping out unruly Goons from their various encampments to vehicular combat and racing. Here’s how long Rage 2 takes to beat though if you’re wondering how big a timesink this mad sandbox is.
How Long it Takes to Beat Rage 2 (Story & Completionists)
At the time of writing, we’re still working our way through Rage 2 for our full review. We like to be thorough, and we’re taking our time seeing and playing everything the open world has to offer before giving our final verdict on the game.
That said, we can tell you that at 15 or so hours into the game we could make a beeline to the game’s final mission if we wanted to, and that option has actually been available since about hour 12 of the game.
Some estimates are putting Rage 2 at 10-15 hours, but that seems a bit light to us.
Perhaps if you were on easy mode and really rushing you’d be finishing its main story in under 15 hours, but for anyone that’s taking the time to clear enemy outposts, upgrade weapons and abilities, race in the Chazcar derby, and generally engage with Rage 2 in a meaningful way, you’re going to be clocking way more gameplay than that. It’s highly dependent on how much time you’re spending on the open world.
In fact, there’s probably a good 30 hours for the completionists out there.
We’ll keep you updated with our progress through Rage 2 as we look to complete the game fully before review. Of course, we’ll make amendments to this article where necessary.
That’s all we can tell you so far about how long Rage 2 takes to beat. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to head over to our extensive wiki guide. In addition to this article, we’ll be updating it with more content over the next few days.
