Pokemon GO’s March Community Day Will Feature Treecko

Niantic has just announced that the Pokemon GO March Community Day will star Treecko. The March Community Day will take place on the 23, and for three hours the Grass-type Pokemon will appear more often for all trainers.

For the first time ever the event will run from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM in each time zone. In the past, Community Day hours would differ depending on the time zone a trainer was playing in, so this change should help simplify things for all players.

If you are unfamiliar with Treecko, it is a Grass-type who first appeared as a Generation III starting Pokemon in the Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire games. Treecko can be evolved into a Grovyle and then into a Sceptile.

Community day Pokemon who evolve during the event will be able to learn an exclusive move, but it has not yet been announced what this will be. It is important to remember that Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves and they must be taught through evolution.

During the event hours, the increased number of Treecko will also mean that it is more likely for you to find a shiny version of the Pokemon. Shiny Treecko will have a slightly different appearance with an overall teal color, tan stomachs and chins, and red tails.

Trainers participating in Community Day should also remember that lures will last for three hours and incubating eggs will hatch in a forth of the usual time.
