When Does Fortnite Season 5 End? What You Need to Know
Update: Epic Games has today revealed that Fortnite Season 5’s end date is a little later than initially expected. Season 6 will now commence on Sept. 27, so you can expect Season 5 to conclude on Sept. 26.
The end of the fifth season of Fortnite is in sight. It’s been one of the most exciting, if not the most exciting, seasons for the Epic Games-developed battle royale, but it seems this season’s excitement is coming to a close. That’s okay though, because as any Fortnite veteran will tell you, when one season ends, another begins. When does Season 5 of Fortnite end? Here’s what you need to know.
With the final slew of Battle Pass challenges out, and no new ones coming in, Season 5 is coming to a close. In fact, it’s coming to a close early next week on Tuesday, Sept. 25. How do we know? Well, a quick glance at the Fortnite page on the website for Epic Games shows in the top-right corner a time range for Season 5 that says, “NOW—SEPT 25.”
While one should never assume — and no official announcement date has been made yet — it seems safe to say that Season 6 of Fortnite Battle Royale will begin the next day on Wednesday, Sept. 26
When Season 5 began earlier this summer on July 12, players had no idea that the already-crazy season — rifts, real-world changes and more — would end on an even crazier note. That note specifically is the giant purple cube that’s been terrorizing the map for weeks. It recently flattened a building in Tilted Towers that just can’t seem to catch a break and now it’s dissolved into Loot Lake, turning one of the map’s least popular locations into a strange, purple lake of sorts. Still though, we’re all in the dark. What does all of this mean? Will we see the cube again? What is the theme of Fortnite Season 6? Nobody knows for sure, but time will tell next week.
