Spider-Man Is the Fastest Selling Game of the Year in the UK

This has been a wild year in terms of top selling releases – Games like Far Cry 5, God of War, Octopath Traveler, and Monster Hunter: World come to mind. However, this year crowns a new fastest seller (at least in the UK), with Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4. Seeing an exclusive top the charts like this is fascinating because it’s only available on one console. It’s also worth noting that the previous best-selling PS4 exclusive of the year was God of War, released back in April. If Spider-Man continues to sell quickly, it may surpass God of War in terms of sales.

Spider-Man’s victories don’t just stop there, as it is the fastest selling Marvel video game of all time, ahead of Lego Marvel Super Heroes. This is a huge win for Insomniac’s open world super hero game. One thing to note is that this report only counts physical copies sold, according to Gamesindustry.biz. It will be interesting to see how Marvel’s Spider-Man stacks up against the other huge titles of the year with games like Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man released on Sept. 7 and if you haven’t gotten your hands on it, do yourself a favor and pick it up because we loved it.
