How to Open Chests (Scavenger Crates) in For Honor

Recommended Videos

For Honor might be two years old at this point, but it still boasts a substantial community of players. Thousands of players are still slashing and stabbing their way to objectives in the PvP melee game that comprises Ubisoft’s line-up of games as a service-type experience. The recent free-to-own base package offer has seen the game’s player count swell even more, so there are literally tens of thousands of new users getting to grips with the game. If you’re new to For Honor, you might well be wondering how to open chests (Scavenger Crates), since the game doesn’t explain it all that well.

In For Honor, you can purchase chests called Scavenger Crates from the customization menu. We wouldn’t recommend doing this until you are at least level one (one wreath), however, since you get better gear at this level. You’ll recognize when you’ve got higher-level gear in For Honor because it’s highlighted in blue, as opposed to common gear.

You’ll also obtain scavenger crates as Faction War rewards as you play through For Honor, so you don’t always need to rely on purchasing them.

To open your chest, go into the hero customization area and choose Scavenger Gear. Here, you can open any available Scavenger Crates or buy the Basic Pack, Armor Pack, Weapon Pack or Premium Pack with For Honor’s in-game currency, called Renown. Every pack guarantees at least one higher level item (blue highlighted), assuming you’re at least reputation level one.

That’s all you need to know about how to open chests (Scavenger Crates) in For Honor. For more useful information, guides, and tips on the game, you can check out Twinfinite’s extensive wiki page, where we have a huge database that should answer any further questions you have.
