New Fallout 76 System Detailed at Gamescom 2018

During the Inside Xbox: Gamescom 2018 Episode, Bethesda dropped a new Fallout 76 trailer that detailed one of the game’s new systems. Dubbed C.A.M.P., which stands for Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform, this system is essentially a mobile workbench that players can take with them along their journey, hence the “mobile platform.”

Called the “workbench of tomorrow” in the trailer, C.A.M.P. will help players craft new weapons, items and more. Similar to Minecraft’s equivalent of this workbench, it can be taken from place to place that players decide to call home.

Alongside this unveiling, this trailer showed off everyone’s favorite animated Vault Boy explaining more of Fallout 76’s systems. You can view the trailer here.

For those interested, Pete Hines of Bethesda announced an Xbox One X Fallout 76 bundle too. This bundle will come with an Xbox One X, naturally, a copy of Fallout 76, a standard Xbox One controller, one month of Xbox Live Gold and one month of Xbox Game Pass. A price was not announced, but it’s likely that this bundle will come in at least $499.99. Preorders aren’t yet live but Hines said that players would be able to preorder this bundle shortly after the presentation.

For the uninitiated, Fallout 76 is an online spin-off of the popular RPG series, Fallout. Set in West Virginia, just a few decades after the Great War, players are tasked with leaving Fallout 76 to start a new America. As a result, players will have to learn the world, the characters and creatures within, and use all the information they can learn to their advantage as they attempt to setup shop somewhere in West Virginia. Players can team up with up to three other players in a party in a world where even more players will also be roaming around. It’s up to you to play friendly or become an enemy of the people.

A beta for the game will take place in October and is available to all console players that preorder the game. All progress from this beta will carry over to the full release when it comes out on Nov. 14.
