Assassin’s Creed: Origins Producer Praises the Xbox One X

Looking good.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins was officially announced at E3 earlier this year and it certainly looks like it’s coming together nicely. It has been confirmed that the game will take advantage of the extra power provided by the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro and the game’s producer has in fact recently praised Microsoft for the Xbox One X’s power.

In an interview with We Write Things, the game’s producer, Julien Laferriere, expressed his enthusiasm for Microsoft’s upcoming console and the fact it allows games to run even better than they normally would. He said: We always like to have new toys to play with. Our friends at Microsoft were kind enough to build the Xbox One X. It’s a really cool machine. What it enables for us is we built a dynamic resolution system. What that does on Xbox One X is it enables us to render the game in full 4K. The world we crafted on 4K is amazing. That’s just one of the things we can now do on Xbox One X”

A dynamic resolution mechanic means that Assassin’s Creed: Origins will run mostly at 4K, but will ease off on the resolution should something happen in-game that begins to overwhelm the console’s processor. This will prevent the game from stuttering or having performance issues.

Being the more powerful console, it seems Xbox One X versions of the game will run games slightly better than the PS4 Pro, but Ubisoft has locked the framerate of both games to 30FPS.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 27. It was recently announced the game will not be seeing a release on the Nintendo Switch.
