It seems that Bandai Namco has accidentally announced a new Dragon Ball Z game ahead of its planned E3 announcement. The developers over at Arc System Works are known for working on 2D fighters like the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue franchises.

According to a translated press release from Gematsu, Dragon Ball Fighters uses a three versus three battle system allowing players to determine the compatibility between characters and form a team of fighters. The game will of course feature flashy and over-the-top battles that are seen in the Dragon Ball universe.

The press release from Bandai Namco was dated for June 12 which is coincidentally, the same day as Sony’s E3 press conference. Dragon Ball Fighters was most likely planned to be announced during the Sony presser but Bandai seems to have accidentally shared the information a bit early.

Dragon Ball Fighters is slated to release in early 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
