At the start of the game, you’ll be prompted to choose your desired difficulty setting. Make your choice here, but rest assured that you can still change it later on if you find that the game is too easy or difficult.

Once you’re in the game, you can change the settings while on the Chapter Select screen. Press + to bring up the menu, then choose Difficulty Select. Choose the new setting you want, and you’re all set.

The settings are as follows:

  • Casual: A difficulty for those simply looking to enjoy the story. Scores won’t be uploaded to rankings.
  • Standard: A difficulty for those who enjoy thrilling battles.
  • Expert: A difficulty for veterans of hardcore action looking to show off their skills.
  • Non-Stop Climax: The ultimate challenge from PlatinumGames. This path should not be chosen lightly.

For first playthroughs, we recommend choosing Standard difficulty. The combat in Bayonetta 3 is fairly easy to pick up, and the Standard setting offers a fair bit of challenge without feeling insurmountable.

How to Unlock Non-Stop Climax Difficulty in Bayonetta 3

If you thought Expert difficulty was too easy, Bayonetta 3’s hidden setting should offer more of a challenge. The Non-Stop Climax setting can only be unlocked after you’ve cleared the game for the first time.

After beating the game and rolling the credits, load up your save, and you’ll be able to choose this setting from the Difficulty Select screen.

That’s all you need to know about how to change difficulty in Bayonetta 3. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
