How to Catch Mantyke & Evolve Into Mantine
The method for evolving Mantyke into Mantine is, more or less, the same as it always has been. You’ll need to have a Remoraid and Mantyke in the party at the same time to get a Mantine.
This is most easily done immediately after gaining access to Basculegion when going through the main story missions in the Cobalt Coastlands because the Pokemon will allow you to ride it across the water.
Here’s how to catch Mantyke and evolve it into Mantine:
- Use Basculegion to surf around in the water to the east of Ginko Landing in the Cobalt Coastlands.
More specifically, the waters of Tranquility Cove, Sand’s Reach, and Castaway Shore contain both Remoraid and Mantyke. You can even catch Mantine here as well to skip the whole evolution process.
- Press Y to jump out of the water and aim in mid-air to slow down time for your Pokeball throw.
Unlike when using the previous ride Pokemon, you can actually throw Pokeballs while riding Basculegion. Slowing down time makes this easier.
- Once Remoraid and Mantyke are both in the party, press X when highlighting Mantyke to evolve it into Mantine.
Most Pokemon need to be evolved manually and won’t simply transform after leveling up like in previous games.
