What Are the Ultrawide Issues with Elden Ring?
Simply put, Elden Ring won’t display in a 21:9 aspect ratio, meaning the game only displays in a 16:9 ratio in the middle of your screen.
It’s a little disappointing, especially given how excellent The Lands Between would look on an ultrawide display. Some may have hoped that Ultrawide support would have come in the 1.02 or 1.03 updates , but sadly, that’s not been the case.
Can You Play Elden Ring in 21:9 Ultrawide Aspect Ratio?
Unfortunately, there’s no official setting or compatibility for Ultrawide in Elden Ring. FromSoftware had previously announced that Elden Ring would not support an ultrawide aspect ratio of 21:9 or anything similar to it.
Will There Be an Ultrawide Mod?
As it turns out, there is now a couple of Elden Ring Ultrawide mods that allow you to play the game in the 21:9 aspect ratio. You can download uberhalit’s version from GitHub here, or you can download Ultrawide UI Fixes from Dziggy on Nexus Mods here.
The benefit with Dziggy’s is that you can also reposition HUD elements that are supposed to be on the sides of the screen to be in their proper places. All menus and pop-up window backgrounds are resized to cover the entire screen, and loading screens and cutscene transitions have been fixed so you don’t see any flickering on the sides of the screen. It’s a thorough ultrawide mod for Elden Ring.
