Version 1.5 will come to all platforms and will also include the next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

It will include an overhaul of the perk tree. Existing players will be able to redistribute their perk points. This will enable completely different playstyles.

Combat AI for NPCs has been changed as well, making them more tactical. NPCs will be more clever and effective in battle.

The driving model has been changed for both bikes and cars. It’s more predictable, with suspension and ABS simulation, and each model of car and bike now feels different. The camera view in first person has been tweaked.

Crowds will now react to the player’s actions and will attack when threatened. Animations have been made smoother and NPCs won’t disappear when you look the other way. NPC drivers will do the same.

Crowds will change as you change time, and the skip time UI has been redesigned so that you know exactly what time you’ll skip to.

Speaking of animations, a toggle to walk has been added as well.

The map received quality of life improvement with side content clearly visible in a different color from the main story content. You’ll also see a counter for gigs from each fixxer. They won’t give you all of the gigs at once and you’ll need to earn reputation with them, with more interesting jogs that unlock as you progress.

As you complete all the gigs from a fixxer, you will unlock new rewards. Filters have been added to the map to make it less overwhelming.

The economy has been rebalanced. Rewards have been tweaked and it’ll be easier to buy things like vehicles and guns.

Free DLC will also come with the patch, including two new weapons and weapon accessories.

Players will have to be able to change their ability mid-game by looking into the mirror in their apartment, while new character creation options like hair colors and makeup options have been added. This is the second free DLC.

The third free DLC adds a new website to your computer adding options to makeover apartments. Six styles are made available for the original apartment.

Four new apartments in different locations of Night City can be rented with different looks and prices. While it’s called a “rent” it’s a one-time payment.

You can also directly rent the apartment at the location if you prefer not to use the website. Apartments are more interactive with roleplay actions added. You can own all of the apartments at once if you want to.

All apartments will share the stash, so you can access it regardless of where you are. They’re also connected with the stashes in your vehicles.

Sleeping now gives you buffs and speaking of “sleeping” changes have been made to romances. For instance, you can message your partner more often and it’s different for each partner. Your partner’s safehouse has received changes.

You can now remove your clothes when showering and taking a shower will also give you a buff.

The fourth free DLC will include new poses for Jhonny in photo mode.

The PS5 will get DualSense haptic features, while sounds in V’s head will now come from the controller’s speaker.

The update will also include new secrets that won’t be announced in the patch notes. It’s worth mentioning that those don’t spell the ton of bug fixes that the update brings, because it’d be too long a list.

Next-gen consoles will get performance and ray-tracing models, while PC will get a benchmark. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support has been added.

If you’d like to know when the patch releases… it’s out now. A free demo is available for next-gen platforms. Saves will be transferable to the full game and it comes with 5 hours of gameplay.

Below you can check out gameplay from both the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, a launch trailer for the update, and a handy table showing which platforms get what.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
