Today Vanillaware shared its annual and gorgeous New Year art, but this time around it’s a special one.
The artwork reveals that February 8, 2022, will mark the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the company, and we learn that Vanillaware will start selling celebratory shirts portraying its “Vanillaware Boy” mascot in two designs, “Dash” and “Spoon.”
Further details will be shared at a later date.
Vanillaware‘s New Year art is always interesting not only because it tends to be gorgeous, but also because at times it hints at future games. For instance, the characters of its latest game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim appeared for the first time in this kind of artwork all the way back in 2013.
At the moment, we don’t know if the year’s art hides any more hints on future plans besides the shirts.
Back in 2019, the company teased a future fantasy project, mentioning that it would be revealed after the launch of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. As of today, we’re still waiting for that full reveal.
In the meanwhile, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim launched for PS4 among acclaim from fans and critics, and you can read our review to see why. It’s also releasing on Nintendo Switch on April 12.
