New World: How to Dye Armor

New World is a pirate-themed MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Games. While it is possible to pay real money to buy skins in New World, you might not necessarily want to do that if you end up getting attached to the look of the equipment you’ve picked up during your journey. To customize it even further and give it a personal touch, you could consider trying to dye your armor as well.

Dyeing Armor in New World

First off, you’ll need dye; this can be obtained by buying it through the trading post, completing quests, or crafting it yourself. Dyes can be crafted at the Kitchen cooking station, and you’ll unlock even more colored recipes as your Cooking trade skill goes up.

Once you have a few dyes in your inventory, press Tab to open your character menu, then left-click on the piece of armor you want to dye, and click on the Dye option.

From here, you’ll see all of your available dyes and armor pieces. You can preview what the colors will look like on the armor before actually applying it, so you can pick one that you like. However, do be warned that once you dye your armor, you’ll lose the pot of dye and you’ll need to craft it again if you still need it.

You can remove the color from your armor after the fact, but you should definitely give some thought to what color combinations you want before going ahead with it.
