Woods Quest Item Locations

The first two quest items are located on the Woods map, concentrated around the highly contested central Sawmill area.

Motor Controller 1: Navigate to the USEC checkpoint located directly west of the central Sawmill. Look for a black SUV parked at the front of this checkpoint. The Motor Controller sits directly on the central plastic console between the driver and passenger seats. If the car doors appear locked due to client-server door collision bugs, jump onto the hood of the vehicle, walk onto the roof, look down through the front windshield, and hold the free-look key to capture the interaction prompt.

Single-axis Fiber Optic Gyroscope 1: Locate the light-blue pickup truck parked behind the large gray metal warehouse at the central Sawmill. Jump directly into the bed of this truck. The gyroscope is housed inside an open, dark wooden weapon container resting on the truck bed. Grab the item quickly and retreat to the tree line to avoid the highly aggressive local scav guards and bosses patrolling the immediate clearing.

Shoreline Quest Item Locations

The remaining three tech components are located on Shoreline, split between the open wilderness and the high-risk Health Resort.

Motor Controller 2: This item sits on the southwestern slope of the Weather Station, also known as Radar Hill, on the eastern side of the map. To find the broken wooden crate containing the controller in the dense grass, stand at the southeast corner of the abandoned railway boxcar near the base of the hill. Point the compass to a bearing of 170 degrees and walk directly into the tree line, or stand on the metal utility cart near the station perimeter to locate the box from a height advantage. If the controller is visually missing due to asset clipping, crouch down and slowly sweep the reticle across the crate floor to trigger the white dot interaction prompt.

Motor Controller 3: Go to the third floor of the Health Resort East Wing. Unlock either Room 306 or Room 308 using your key and walk onto the shared concrete balcony. The motor controller is inside a small, open cardboard package resting on the balcony floor near the blue metal generator. To save on key costs, buy the cheaper Room 308 key from the Flea Market and jump over the balcony generator obstacle to access the Room 306 side.

Single-axis Fiber Optic Gyroscope 2: Enter the second floor of the Health Resort West Wing, entering through the broken northern wall to bypass contested entryways. Locate Room 216 and unlock it using the West Wing Room 216 Key. Step inside and turn immediately to your left to locate a blue metal storage locker. The gyroscope is sitting on the middle shelf of this locker.

High Efficiency Extraction and Routing Strategies

To avoid losing quest items upon death, operators should use the Marathon map transit system to secure all five items in a singular, continuous deployment. Start by deploying into Marathon mode on Woods, collect the first two items, and proceed to the Lighthouse transit point which opens one minute after the raid starts. Channel the 20-second transition to move to Lighthouse, and then transition to Shoreline. Chaining these transitions guarantees enough continuous experience to mathematically bypass the “Run Through” penalty entirely.

If players run into a network-related issue during these transitions, a step-by-step guide to fixing the Bad Gateway error can get them back in the game quickly. It’s also worth checking Escape From Tarkov’s live server status handy before attempting a multi-map marathon run, so laggy raids don’t get mistaken for a connection problem. Once on Shoreline, secure the remaining three components, extract immediately, and hand the items over to Skier from your quest inventory to lock in your progression.
