Cris Tales: How to Beat Volcano Sisters

Cris Tales comes right out of the gate with a fairly difficult battle against the Volcano Sisters. You’ll need to put together everything you’ve learned so far about the game’s combat systems in order to survive, and even then you might just eke it out. Here are our tips and tricks for how to beat the Volcano Sisters for the first time in Cris Tales.

How to Beat the Volcano Sisters in Cris Tales (First Fight)

While technically you do briefly fight the Volcano Sisters in the intro, you don’t have the chance to beat them for real until about 20 minutes later when the actual battle begins.

First, before anything, if it’s not too late (aka you’ve made a save point early), go around town and find every treasure chest you can. There are a few helpful healing and revive items that you can find that will give you an edge. If you can’t do this, it’s not the end of the world, but it does make life easier if you can get them.

Now for the actual battle; the first tough one in Cris Tales. When you attack first with Crisbell, you’re not going to be able to hurt them, just like last time. What you need to do, instead, is use a Water Bubble attack from Cristopher and then, when you switch back to Crisbell, use her future time crystal power to send the Volcano Sisters into the future. This will allow you to hurt them as their shield is now rusted.

It’s still not easy going even from here, though, it just makes the battle possible to win, that’s all. In order to beat them, you’ll need to really get good with the parry and double attack system. This is done by pressing the action button (A on Xbox, X on PlayStation for example, AKA whatever you would use to interact), right as your attack makes contact with an enemy; and for parrying, right before their attack lands.

It’s particularly important that you get the guard/parry down for the Volcano Sisters’ attacks, otherwise they will very quickly bring your HP down if you take full damage attacks over and over. If you guard them, though, you’ll take very little damage and shouldn’t have any issue beating the Volcano Sisters.

It may take you a few tries to get this down, but just keep practicing and once you can somewhat consistently guard the attacks, you’ll be able to win by continuing to attack them.
