Today, during its Age of Empires: Fan Preview livestream, Microsoft showcased the first gameplay of Age of Empires IV.

We start with a look at the Delhi Sultanate, the first revealed civilization of the game, followed by the reveal of the Norman Conquest campaign. It’s one of four historical campaigns included in Age of Empires IV.

Following is a visit to Relic Entertainment to hear about the game directly from the developers, on top of a look at gameplay focused on the Chinese civilization.

Moving on to the Definitive Editions, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is getting the “Dawn of the Dukes” expansion this summer and co-op historical battles later this year.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is getting the United States Civilization and related content as its first major update on April 13. Later this year a new expansion will focus on African civilizations.

We then get another extensive gameplay look at Dark Age gameplay featuring the English against the Delhi Sultanate, Feudal Age gameplay showcasing the Mongols vs the Chinese, Castle Era with English versus Delhi Sultanate, and Imperial Age focusing on Mongols vs Chinese again.

At the end we hear that the game is coming in fall 2021 for Windows 10, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass for PC, on top of seeing a teaser of naval warfare.
