You’ll come across a fair amount of enemies when playing as Cody or May in It Takes Two, including the terrifying wasps that make up The Tree. And while all the enemies you face are challenging, you’ll definetly have your hands full with the level’s first boss, the Shield Wasp. Here is everything you need to know about how to beat the Shield Wasp in It Takes Two.
Shortly after you exit the first rail section of this level, you’ll come upon the vault door you’ve been looking for. Have Cody shoot his tree sap on the door so that it rotates counterclockwise.
How to Beat Shield Wasp in It Takes Two
Once you get one rotation done, the Shield Wasp will appear. As its name suggests, this flying enemy wields a shield that protects them from any frontal attacks.
Shield Wasp also has a lance that they’ll use to charge attack you with. In order to damage them, you’ll have to have Cody stick the backside of his body with his tree sap gun and then have May explode it with her Drill Buzzer rifle.
The easiest way to be able to do this is to wait for the Shield Wasp to charge Cody. When charging, roll out of the way by press Square on PlayStation and X on Xbox.
As soon as you roll, have Cody paint the back of the Shield Wasp and then aggro it. This will give May a clear shot to detonate the tree sap with her rifle.
Repeat this process a few times and you’ll have taken down the Shield Wasp and cracked the vault.
