Today Arc System Works released a gallery of new screenshots and information about the upcoming fighting game Guilty Gear – Strive-.
We get to take at the single-player and offline modes starting with the tutorial, which provides the player with the appropriate advice depending on their level while witnessing the interaction between Sol and Ky.
The Arcade mode is the core mode of the game, including a fully-voiced dramatic story. Depending on your skill level the story will branch and situations like a character coming to help or a battle with a powerful boss can be triggered. Conversations also change depending on the route you take.
Mission mode lets you take on challenges that allow you to hone your skills while earning proficiency points.
Survival does exactly what it says on the tin and also includes an online leaderboard. You get pitched against an infinite number of enemies recovering only a certain amount of energy after each battle. At certain points, more powerful enemies will also appear.
Training lets you practice freely including input lists with videos, automatic counterattack settings, replay recording, and combo saving.
Of course, offline versus is also available. You can play against a friend or against computer-controlled enemies for which you can freely set strengths and weaknesses. The post-match screen will also analyze your performance.
A story mode and a gallery mode are also present, but will be detailed at a later time.
In the meanwhile, you can enjoy the gallery below.
We already know that the next character reveal is coming in February. It should be the last of the initial roster of the game, which will include 15 characters.
That being said, five more are coming with the first character pass. They have not yet been revealed.
