Trine 4

Developer Frozenbyte is working on new DLC for its acclaimed puzzle-platformer Trine 4. Called Melody of Mystery, the story expansion beckons the series’ endearing trio of heroes back to the Astral Academy to investigate an enchanted slumber that has enveloped the academy’s students. It’s currently slated for a Spring 2021 launch

A press release sent to Twinfinite today tees up the story premise with the following synopsis:

“With a suspicious and mistakenly freed spirit on the loose, Amadeus, Pontius, and Zoya’s encore journey will lead them through six all-new levels, where they’ll master upgraded abilities while solving fresh puzzles incorporating new elements like sheets of ice, torches, magnets, and crystals. Get a first look at the adventure ahead and hear its accompanying new musical tracks by viewing Trine 4: Melody of Mystery’s teaser trailer here:”

A new teaser trailer offers our glimpse at the action:

Twinfinite reviewed Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, scoring the game 4/5 and concluding:

“While it might be a little conservative and still suffer from pitfalls that held back previous games in the series, Trine 4 is one of the best puzzle-platformers you’ll play this generation.”

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince and its upcoming DLC is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Presumably, the games are all playable on next-generation hardware thanks to backward compatibility.
