Today Spike Chunsoft released a brand new batch of screenshots and details of the upcoming Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne.
This time around we learn about the beginning of the story, which diverts from the anime considerably.
It begins a month after Subaru was transported to the other world. After saving Irlam village, he has become very popular and he’s there with Emilia to talk to the villagers.
After returning to Roswaal’s Mansion they encounter a man named Tiga coming from the royal capital. A woman named Sakura Element who accompanies him warns our heroes that the Royal election is being postponed. They decide to travel back to the capital to find out why.
Along the way, Subaru and his friends meet Otto, a merchant attacked by bandits, and decide to help him. With the cooperation of travelers named Salum and Pooka, they manage to drive off the attacker and reach the capital safely.
There, they meet Melty, who is the sixth candidate for the election. Yet, since there should be only five as indicated by the Dragon Stone, Emilia is suspected of being an imposter. Subaru and the others spring to action to clear her of the suspicions.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne, releases on Jan. 29, 2021, in North America and Feb. 5 in Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The upcoming Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne is a tactical adventure game with an original story based around the first season of the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime, and was completely supervised by the series author Tappei Nagatsuki. The character designs were done by the series artist, Shinichirou Otsuka, and Subaru’s Return by Death ability is an important aspect of the game system, much like in the original works.
