Check Out Some Incredible Ghost of Tsushima Concept Art

Sucker Punch Productions, the team behind the PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima, put out a blog post today that reveals dozens of gorgeous pieces of concept art. Ian Jun Wei Chiew, the Lead Concept Artist on the title, goes into detail on what went into the creation of the characters, environments, and the visual style of the open-world epic.

Like for example, the developers didn’t want to dress Jin Sakai in the traditional all-black garb that you normally see assassin’s wearing. To make the Ghost outfit more realistic, they added samurai armor elements.

There’s also another neat tidbit about characters you meet in the game always having some part of their outfit that can react to wind, such as a cape or tassels, making everyone feel more connected to Tsushima’s world.

Ghost of Tsushima is available exclusively on the PS4 and received mostly positive reception when it launched earlier this year. Our reviewer Alex Gibson gave the open-world action-adventure game a 4.5/5, which is a Great on the Twinfinite scale. Here’s an excerpt for you:

Perhaps most importantly for me, and for which Sucker Punch deserves particular praise, Ghost of Tsushima features a level of charm that gives it a soul and personality lacking from so many AAA games lack these days. Even if it ultimately suffers from repetition by the game’s end, and despite a lack of variety in its quest, the magic of that initial exploration and the beauty of its world will stick with me for a very long time.

The developers at Sucker Punch Productions recently launched a new cooperative multiplayer mode for Ghost of Tsushima that’s called Legends. There’s a two-player story mode to play through and survival missions with up to four players.
