Marvel’s Avengers Game: All Playable Characters List

Where other video games have you playing as just a single protagonist, Marvel’s Avengers features a whole ensemble of popular superheroes. At launch, though, you’ll only be able to play a handful of them. Here’s a list of all playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers, and what we know about who’s being added moving forward.

All Playable Characters in Marvel’s Avengers Game

Currently, there are six playable heroes in Marvel’s Avengers, which are as follows:

  • Ms. Marvel
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Black Widow
  • Captain America
  • Thor

Each of them is playable in the game’s single-player campaign, and once you’ve recruited them all as part of the story you can then launch into Initiative multiplayer games using anyone you like.

As you’d expect from a live service game, more characters are being added down the line, and we’re already aware of three coming in the near future.

Hawkeye will be the first post-launch character, followed by Kate Bishop (Young Avengers’ Hawkeye). Spider-Man is also set for his own introduction, though he’ll unfortunately only be available to PlayStation players as a PS4/PS5 exclusive.

Except in the case of third-party exclusivity deals such as Spider-Man, all future characters will be added to the game free of charge. That being said, you’ll need to pay $10 per character if you’re interested in their Hero Challenge Cards, which offers cosmetic rewards as part of a battle pass-like progression system.

That does it for this list of all playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers. We’ll keep it updated moving forward. For now, more useful tips and information on the game can be found in Twinfinite’s extensive guide wiki.
