Blightbound Coming to Steam Early Access

Devolver Digital Announces Blightbound for Steam Early Access

How do you feel about loot? Publisher Devolver Digital has announced their new game Blightbound, a dungeon crawler, and it will be releasing on Steam Early Access sometime this year. Devolver Digital has been behind series like Serious Sam and hits like Enter the Gungeon. Blightbound comes from developer Ronimo Games who created Awesomenauts.

Blightbound is an online & local multiplayer dungeon crawler that tasks three heroes to venture down from their mountain refuge to face the abominations of the Blight – a mysterious and corrupting fog that enshrouds the land. Explore handcrafted dungeons, fight a terrifying cadre of mystical and monstrous enemies, grab valuable loot, and recover fallen heroes to expand your roster of available warriors. Each player will fulfill a specific role on the team – warrior, assassin, or mage – to overcome colossal bosses and solve clever puzzles.

Despite being released as early access, the game still sounds quite packed with over 20 characters to collect, each with their own skills, passives, and “fully narrated” story.

While that already makes Blightbound sound quite packed, there is already future content planned:

Blightbound is an ever-expanding game with new dungeons to explore, new heroes to recover and use, and new loot to retrieve with planned free updates for the community.

Blightbound promises local and online co-op as the game “tasks three heroes to venture down from their mountain refuge to face the abominations of the Blight – a mysterious and corrupting fog that enshrouds the land.”

You can see all of the beautiful “hand-painted characters and real time 3D models and lighting effects” in the trailer below.

Blightbound doesn’t have a set release date for launching on Steam Early Access, and the store page simply says 2020.
