Today, during an event in Japan, Square Enix announced a new NieR game for mobile and a new sales milestone for its massively popular JRPG NieR: Automata.

First and foremost, we hear that the game has now shipped over 4.5 million copies worldwide including pysical shipments and full-game digital downloads on all platforms.

That’s certainly a great achievement for a game belonging to a niche franchise like NieR.

Secondly, we get the announcement of NieR Re[in]carnation, a brand new mobile JRPG for iOS and Android.

The game will be free to play with the usual optional microtransactions, and it doesn’t have a release date just yet.

It’s developed by Applibot with character design by Cygames’ art subsidiary Cydesignation.

You can enjoy a teaser trailer below.

NieR: Automata is considered by many Yoko Taro’s masterpiece, pairing the creator’s unique world building with PlatinumGames’ masterful approach to action gameplay.

It was released in 2017 for PS4 and PC and then extended to the Xbox One in 2018.
