February NPD: Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Remains Best-Seller of 2020; Switch Maintains Hardware Lead

Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group has released sales information regarding the video game market in the United States for the month of February 2020, as he does every single month.

Due to light AAA releases this past month, year-to-date spending totaled $1.4B, falling 28%. Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot currently sits at the top of the charts for the best-selling game of the last 12 months and for the month of February but Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot remains the best-selling game of 2020 year-to-date, with Call of Duty in second place, and NBA 2K20 in third.

Piscatella also notes that the “Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware platform of February in both unit and dollar sales and remains the best-selling hardware platform of the year.

Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller was the best-selling video game accessory for the fourth consecutive month, with the controller also being the best-selling accessory year-to-date.
