Due to light AAA releases this past month, year-to-date spending totaled $1.4B, falling 28%. Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot currently sits at the top of the charts for the best-selling game of the last 12 months and for the month of February but Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot remains the best-selling game of 2020 year-to-date, with Call of Duty in second place, and NBA 2K20 in third.
Piscatella also notes that the “Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware platform of February in both unit and dollar sales and remains the best-selling hardware platform of the year.”
Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller was the best-selling video game accessory for the fourth consecutive month, with the controller also being the best-selling accessory year-to-date.
