Today PlatinumGames opened a new teaser website with a very simple concept, but simplicity doesn’t necessarily mean easy to understand.

The site simply teases the number “4” with no further indication or data.

There is also a mention of “Platinum4,” some transition effects, and four stars that resemble the PlatinumGames logo.

It’s not explicitly a countdown site, but the “4” could possibly indicate the number of days left.

While many will certainly hope that this is about some of PlatinumGames’ most popular games, it’s worth mentioning that these are IPs owned by other companies.

If this was something about NieR: Automata, Bayonetta, or Astral Chain, it’s likely that Square Enix or Nintendo would be doing the teasing.

On the other hand, PlatinumGames recently received funding from the Chinese giant Tencent and expressed the intention to independently self-fund some original self-owned IPs.

The most likely option is that they’re ready to reveal part of that project. Of course, this is just my speculation, so you should take it with the customary grain of salt.

Hopefully, we’ll know more soon, but for now, we wait. Of course, we’ll let you know as soon as PlatinumGames announces something or provides more hints, so stay tuned here on Twinfinite.
