PlayStation Now Will Come to PS5; Sony Aims to Further Improve Tech and Software

Today’s issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu included an interview with Yasuhiro Osaki from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Network team focused on PlayStation Now, which also includes an interesting detail about the future of the service on PS5.

Osaki-san mentions that the company is working on PlayStation Now with a long-term vision, so of course the service will also be offered on PlayStation 5.

He also explains that the aim is to further enhance PlayStation Now going forward both in its technology and on the software side.

Sony owns mant patents about cloud gaming tech and they’re “absolutely confident.”

According to Osaki-san PlayStation has been doing business in the gaming industry for 25 years and PlayStation Now is technology born as a result of those 25 years of expertise. It’s a collection of know-how accumulated with the desire of providing a good service to its users.

Sony recently revealed more details on PS5, including the official name. It’ll come next year during the Holiday season.

PlayStation Now recently improved its offering by dropping the price and adding several beloved AAA games. Among those there are fan-favorites like God of War, inFAMOUS: Second Son, Grand Theft Auto V, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
