Among other things, we get the reveal of a few returning characters: we’ll meet Kirito and Eugeo’s valets Tiese Shtolienen and Ronye Arabel, who will play a different and extended role in this new game compared to the anime.

Fan-favorite chibi meganekko Cardinal will also appear and play a role in the story.

During a preview event at Bandai Namco’s headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo, we learned that the first part of the game follows the first season of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime, while the second part takes its own route instead of simply following the second season.

You can check out the trailer below, alongside an extensive gameplay video that we recorded at the preview event.

Since the demo was about exploring the extensive field we did exactly that, instead of following the quest as prompted.

If you want to see more, you can check out the original announcement trailer, the previous promotional video, more gameplay from a few weeks ago, and the latest screenshots.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is coming for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2020.
